Selena Gomez Is Still 'A Kid' To Jeff Garlin: Singer 'Wouldn't Change Being A Disney Kid For The World'

Selena Gomez's former "Wizards of Waverly Place" co-star Jeff Garlin isn't too happy about the way the media is sexualizing the 22-year-old.

"I worked with [Gomez] for three years, and I love her. She is, at least in terms of what I saw, a great kid," Garlin explained to HuffPostLive earlier this week, according to Us Magazine.

The "Curb Your Enthusiasm" star added, "But then I see her sexualized. When I see her sexualized, I look at her, and I look at this Ariana Grande, both beautiful girls, but they have baby fat! They look like kids!"

The 52-year-old actor, who played Selena Gomez's TV uncle on the Disney show, was reportedly very hesitant about watching Harmony Korine's film "Spring Break."

"I'm by myself in the theater, and I couldn't have felt dirtier. Great bikini shots of Selena Gomez? I don't go there. I see the thing, but I see those chubby cheeks. She's a kid. This is disgusting that it's happening so young," explained Garlin.

Despite the new roles that Gomez takes on, the "Come & Get It" singer shared that her time on "Wizards of Waverly Place" shaped her years as a teenager, according to E! News.

"I was on Wizards of Waverly Place from when I was 14 until I was 18 or 19 and I thank God for that show-it gave me a legitimate family. The whole cast and crew were all there before anything started, they saw me at my best and at my worst, and could call me out on my s--t," stated Gomez during an interview with the blog Into The Gloss.

She added, "I'm so proud of [that show]. Sure, it put me in that box of being a Disney kid, but I wouldn't change that for the world."
