Wacoal America and Norm Thompson Outfitters have reportedly agreed to refund $1.5 million to customers and to pull advertisements claiming that caffeine-infused underwear will slim you down, according to Ksat.

The caffeinated underwear was marketed with the ability to help women lose weight with "no effort at all," but the Federal Trade Commission has put its foot down so these products can no longer be sold, according to US News.

"Slimming and firming results are visible in under a month," Oregon-based Norm Thompson reportedly said in one advertisement the FTC quoted in its complaint, according to Fox News.

The FTC reportedly released a statement that the manfacturers "deceptively advertised, marketed and sold" caffeine-infused underwear by claiming that it will allegedly reduce and eliminate unwanted fat and cellulite.

"If someone says you can lose weight by wearing the clothes they are selling, steer clear. The best approach is tried and true: diet and exercise," stated Jessica Rush, director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection.

The two companies are reportedly being forbidden from making any similar claims on products in the future unless they have scientific evident to support them.

The FTC is reportedly taking "public comment" on the recent settlement until October 29. After that date, the commission will reportedly further discuss and decide whether to make it permanent.
