Kate Winslet And Leonardo di Caprio: Kate Explains Why She And 'Titanic' Co-Star Leo Never Hooked Up; 'He Always Saw Me As One Of The Boys'

She made her mark worldwide starring as poor little rich girl Rose, in Titanic, one of the biggest blockbusters of all time. The world fell in love with the pairing of Jack and Rose, and their infamous scene standing atop the ship's prow is a universally recognized iconic moment in movies. But Kate Winslet and Leonardo di Caprio have since gone to make stellar careers, starring in some of the most critically acclaimed movies of their generation.

But what the world really wants to know is why the two have not ended up with each other? Kate Winslet and Leonardo di Caprio did not even date each other! The 38 year old actress recently sat down with Marie Claire UK for an interview as their cover star for November 2014. In the exclusive interview, the 38 year old explains her refusal to diet, and reveals once and for all why she and Leonardo Di Caprio never got romantically involved.

For Kate, she is surrounded by people who are obsessed about their weight whenever she has to be in Los Angeles for a film or project. And she doesn't understand why since most of these girls are so thin to begin with! "Whenever I go to LA the make-up artist or hairdresser will end up having a conversation about how fat they think they are and I really just can't take it seriously at all," Kate shares. "I'm just like, 'Yeah, you're right, you look gigantic, you need to lay off those bolied bits of chicken you've been eating because have you seen your arse?' And they're the size of a blinking pin. I'm no stranger to the occasional dodgy juice, but it doesn't taste very nice and it is bloody boring. It's not a way to live."

Of course, the most pressing question on everyone's mind is why she and Leonardo Di Caprio never got together. For the actress, the Kate Winslet and Leonardo Di Caprio relationship is the platonic level. "I think the reason that friendship works is because there was never any romantic thing," the star reveals. "It's so disappointing for people to hear that, because in the soap opera of the Kate and Leo story we fell in love at first sight and had a million snogs, but actually we never did. He always saw me as one of the boys. I've never really been a girly-girl."
