Warner Brothers has already confirmed a trilogy adaptation for 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' with 'Harry Potter' author JK Rowling as the screenwriter.
Although the film will be based on the 'Potter' magical world, it will have a new set of characters and will be set in the 1970s. The lead protagonist will be Newt Scamander, author of the Hogwarts textbook with the same name.
According to previous news, the 'Potter' spinoff will be hitting cinemas on November 18, 2016. David Yates is also rumored to direct at least one of the films.
With a trilogy planned for 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them,' is Warner Bros trying to recreate the Harry Potter series' success?
According to Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara, that's exactly the plan.
"The hope is that we're going to build a film franchise that will impact a lot of the studio's businesses," Tsujihara reportedly told Wall Street analysts, reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The studio has a lot of fans for the spinoff and they won't just be confined to films.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is planning to create video games and a new attraction in the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter theme park run by the Universal Parks and Resorts.
The project is reportedly "incredibly important" with the intent being to draw a big following and create more sequels just like the 'Harry Potter' franchise.
Universal Studios' Islands of Adventure recently opened the Diagon Alley section of the Harry Potter area to the public. The new attraction included shops similar to the ones found in the secret magical street in the Potter world.
It also features a new ride, Escape From Gringotts, where park-goers can experience Harry, Ron and Hermione's excursion to the Goblin-run bank.
Should 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' become as successful as the film studio planned, a ride based on the film will be added to the amusement park.
What do you think of a 'Fantastic Beasts' ride at the Harry Potter park? How excited are you for the movies?
