Joan Rivers news announced that the late comedienne's daughter, Melissa Rivers, will be suing the doctor responsible for the alleged medical malpractice that caused her mother's untimely death.

According to the report from Daily Mail, the 46-year-old is moving forward with the lawsuit to be filed against Dr. Gwen Korovin. The doctor allegedly performed an unscheduled biopsy on Joan Rivers, and is still treating other patients amid accusations of medical malpractice.

A friend of Melissa Rivers said: "It's very difficult to discuss something so unpleasant with her, but she is going to launch a lawsuit."

A lawyer for Dr. Gwen Korovin released a statement, posted by Daily Mail: "Korovin maintains privileges at one of the city's most prestigious hospitals. She is respected and admired by her peers in the medical community and she is revered by her patients."

In related Joan Rivers news, outpatient clinic Yorkville Endoscopy has reportedly fired its medical director.

According to Us Weekly, Dr.. Lawrence Cohen has been on administrative leave since August 28. While he has not been officially accused of being responsible for Joan Rivers' death pending further investigation, the medical director himself decided to step down from his position.

E!Online reported Joan Rivers news weeks ago about how the comedienne stopped breathing during a minor endoscopic procedure at Yorkville Endoscopy.

A source said: "They were putting a scope down her throat to check her vocal cords. She stopped breathing."

Joan Rivers news said an emergency call was made and the comedienne was then rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. She died on September 4 at the age of 81.

According to another report from TMZ, police investigation is ongoing for the New York outpatient facility for possible medical malpractice during the "Fashion Police" host's botched operation.

Clinic insiders claim that Joan Rivers' supporters have been coming in groups following their idol's cardiac arrest.

The TMZ report revealed how death threats were sent to Yorkville Endoscopy. Some of the threats included: "If Joan dies, so will you," and "I hope you people die, you killed an icon."
