Casey Kasem news has reported that his wife, Jean Kasem, is reportedly fighting back as her daughter Liberty Kasem slammed her stepsisters for "lying". According to a report from Santa Monica Mirror, a judge has even rejected the requests of Julie Kasem and Kerri Kasem for reimbursement of legal fees.
Jean Kasem's camp said the former "America's Top 40" host was actually doing well in Washington until Kerri Kasem and his children from his first marriage took him away.
Liberty Kasem claimed her stepsiblings are not telling the truth. She said: "My dad suffered. Nobody should be treated like that. He's not an animal."
"I'm going to have justice for my dad," Liberty Kasem said.
According to Santa Monica Mirror, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lesley Green recently rejected the request of daughter Julie Kasem for reimbursement of attorneys' fees amounting to $160,000.
The report detailed how the judge advised Julie Kasem to pursue other options, such as a breach-of-settlement action, if she truly believes her stepmother Jean Kasem did not honor the terms of their conservatorship settlement agreement.
Kerri Kasem filed a conservatorship petition last year against Jean Kasem. The former MTV video jock was named her as her father's temporary conservator in May, said the Santa Monica Mirror report.
Kerri Kasem is asking for a reimbursement of travel expenses she incurred while attending to matters involving her father's death . The said reimbursement will be taken from the late radio host's estate, hence the requirement for a judge to approve the costs.
In related Casey Kasem news, the late radio star's corpse was reportedly refused by a funeral home in Norway.
According to a report from All Access, Casey Kasem's daughter, Kerri Kasem, tweeted that she was informed about the attempted burial.
She then sent the Norwegian funeral home a petition consisting of 20,000 signatures for them to not accept their late father's missing body.
Casey Kasem news said his daughter also plans to send at least 10,0000 letters and online signatures to the facility that is keeping her father's missing remains.
The radio veteran's death has been surrounded by intrigues as Casey Kasem's children said their father was being kept away from them by their stepmother Jean Kasem. According to People magazine, the feud started after the beloved radio star became sick with Parkinson's and dementia, then eventually died last June 15 in Gig Harbor, Washington.
Kerri Kasem then sent a lawyer to Gaffney Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Tacoma, Washington, where Casey Kasem's body was confirmed by police to be missing.
