Actor Shia LaBeouf is all about getting into character.
For his recent role as a soldier in "Fury," LaBeouf reportedly caused some self-inflicted wounds to make things seem as authentic as possible.
"We were in makeup and they were putting cuts on Shia and I said, 'Yeah, yeah, it looks good.' And Shia was like, 'No, it doesn't look real.' Then he walks out into the hallway and says, 'Hey man, wanna see something fun? Check this out...' and he takes out a knife and cuts his face. And for the whole movie he kept opening these cuts on his face. That's all real," explained Shia LaBeouf's "Fury" co-star Logan Lerman during an interview with Britains' GQ magazine.
The 28-year-old actor didn't stop there. He reportedly pulled out a tooth for his role as well.
"He didn't do it himself, he did go to a dentist and asked them to pull his tooth out but yeah, what an odd request," continued Lerman.
LaBeouf shared a photo of himself with a missing tooth on Twitter earlier this year along with the caption, "When you get a role to sink your teeth into - do it. #FURY," according to USA Today. "Fury," which is set for release later this month, also stars Brad Pitt and Clint Eastwood's son Scott, according to the media outlet WTVA.
Although cutting one's own face and pulling out a tooth might seem like too much for some, co-star Brad Pitt was reportedly quite taken by the "Transformers" star.
"Oh, I love this boy. He's one of the best actors I've every seen. He's full on commitment, man. He's living it like no one else, let me tell you. I've been fortunate to work with a lot of great actors. He's one of the best I've seen," stated Pitt.
