German musician Anna-Maria Hefele is making headlines for a viral video of her "throat singing."

In her video, Hefele is singing using polyphonic overtone techniques, which allows her to sing two notes at the same time, according to Yahoo News.

The viral video, which was initially posted on Reddit, now reportedly has more than 1.6 million views on YouTube and has gotten more than 14,000 likes.

"WOOOman, this one's got some talent ===2 notes at once! How does she make both sounds at once...#nuckinfuts. #musicmonday," commented YouTube user matthew rapport.

Fellow social media user Pabo Arellano added, "Beautiful overtone singing."

Anna-Maria Hefele is kind enough to explain the details of the technique she's mastered in her video as well.

"You can sing the overtone scale on one fundamental. Another fundamental has its own overtone scale, so in order to have more overtones to sing nice melodies, you can use different fundamentals and change them while singing," explains the singer.

Hefele has been practicing this specific voice technique since 2005 and is a classically trained singer who plays various instruments, including the harp, mandolin, piano, didgeridoo and Schwegel, according to her website Xanmoo.com. Phlyphonic overtone singing reportedly started in southwestern Mongolia and is locally known as Sygyt, according to The Huffington Post.
