Canadian band Nickelback may not be too popular in London.
A Kickstarter campaign titled "Don't Let Nickel Back" has reportedly been launched to make sure that the rock band doesn't return to London again, according to MTV.
"We are attempting to ensure that Canadian 'rockers' Nickelback do not come to London, England to play a gig. With your help, we can ensure that the band do not schedule any gigs here, do not attempt to come here - nor even phone here ... Just imagine, thousands - perhaps tens of thousands of music lovers - all not witnessing an exclusive concert by Nickelback in London. It will be glorious. Legendary. Dare we say, game changing?," reads the description for the Kickstarter, according to the website PerezHilton.com.
The founder of the Kickstarter campaign, British rock fan Craig Mandell, is reportedly looking to raise $1000 for the "cause." 24 people have donated thus far, reportedly raising a total of $127.
A $1 donation will result in an email "written on your behalf, to the management of Nickelback, kindly requesting that they do not play in London, England for the foreseeable future." A $5 donation will result in a "slightly more forceful email" while a $10 donations will result in an email that is "full of explicit phrases and lots of capital letters and maybe even rude emoticon or two."
A whopping $50 donation will lead to Nickelback being forced to listen to their own music as an mp3 of their own tracks will be sent to the group.
"This way, the band will hear their own music, and likely retire immediately, thereby ensuring the success of our campaign. You also get the added bonus of not seeing Nickelback. And perhaps helping to ensure no one ever does again," reads the Kickstarter.
Nickelback is reportedly currently preparing for the release of their eighth studio album "No Fixed Address," which is set for release on November 17.
