A new director is rumored to replace Michael Bay in the new Transformers movie, Transformers 5.

According to reports from Indie Wire, Transformers director Michael Bay may consider the leaving the franchise for good saying that “there’s a lot that’s unexplored, but that’s for the next director to figure out”.

USA Today conducted an Interview with Bay on the possible future for the Transfomers movie as Bay believes he will pass the baton for future Transformer movies to a new director while he turns his focus elsewhere.

There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make," says Bay, who is eyeing a passion project, a documentary on elephant poaching. "I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles."

Indie Wire further reported that the likely candidate to replace Bay would be his protege and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles director Jonathan Liebesman.

Meanwhile, six new Transformer characters are added in the movie.

According to reports from Comic Central City, an allege Transformers Facebook fan page claimed that Ultra Magnus, Red Alert, and Override are the new Autobots to join Optimus Prime, while Cyclonus, Scourge, and Blitzwing are Galvatron's new lieutenants in the new Decepticon army.

The Inquisitor has reported before that the Quintessons will serve as the original creators of the Transformer race and will likely serve as the main villains in the movie. The website stated that Transformers 5 will likely focus on the origins of the Transformers in Cybertron, and not to mention the Unicron saga.

Transformers 5 is scheduled to be released on 2016.
