Blake Lively pregnant reports have been circling the Internet for quite some time now. However, it was only through a relatively cryptic post on her lifestyle website, Preserve.us, that the announcement was made.
She announced that she is expecting with her Canadian-born husband Ryan Reynolds. In an editorial spread that honored "family," the 27-year-old "Gossip Girl" star included a picture of herself in a spread of other models who also looked to be pregnant. This was the first time that her fans were able to have a peek at her slowly growing belly.
She did not give much detail, but the photo was posted together with a message from the lifestyle website's editorial team. The message said, "Preserve at its core is about family. 'Family' is the single word our founder, Blake, built this home on."
"We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realized we don't have anything for the new. With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all - to the women in our lives to are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family," the message continued to say.
This pregnancy is actually the first for both Lively and Reynolds, who had married a couple of years on September. They first met each other on the set of 2010 blockbuster movie, "Green Lantern."
Both of them have always been vocal about their desire to have children. In fact, it would seem that children have a somewhat special place in their hearts. They even made a surprise visit to the pediatric department in a hospital in Sudbury back in February last year. They took pictures of themselves carrying tiny babies and posted them on their Facebook page.
Reynolds, the amazingly handsome actor of "Buried", "Two Guys and A Girl", and "The Change-Up", used to be married to Scarlett Johansson. They decided to get a divorce in 2010 after being married for two years. He was also previously engaged to internationally famous Canadian singer Alanis Morissette from 2004 to 2007.
