Recently, Ebola virus zombies rumors shook the Internet after the photo of an alleged victim who rose from the dead went viral. Some people were quick to jump the gun and speculate possibilities of an impending zombie apocalypse. However, all of it is just a hoax.
The Independent reported that the photo in question (purportedly one of the Ebola virus zombies) has been skillfully altered using Photoshop. Someone has done a good job at doctoring the image, which is actually that of a zombie from the movie "World War Z."
Huffington Post reported that the horrible photo of an alleged Liberian Ebola casualty came with a caption. It said:
Then it was followed by a cited verse from the bible taken from Isaiah 26:19-20: "Your dead shall live, their bodies shall rise."
Huffington Post added that the image accompanied an article that warned of a probable beginning of a zombie apocalypse. It even included an accusation against the US government, as the one responsible for the outbreak by creating the virus for use in biological warfare in the future.
But is there even the remotest possibility that Ebola virus zombies (or any zombies, even not infected by the virus) would one day be shambling across the streets craving for human brains? Prime magazine adamantly says, "No, "and here are their reasons why:
1. The weather will surely have its way with them.
Prolonged exposure to elements, particularly the sun, heat and frigid weather; can wear anyone down. Zombies with their rapidly decaying bodies would succumb faster to physical deterioration courtesy of such conditions.
2. Modern medical science affords humans, not zombies, the chance to fix themselves up biologically and mentally.
With immediate treatment, anyone who encounters illnesses or accidents gets the opportunity (depending on the specific condition and present circumstances, of course) to survive and to be rehabilitated, so they regain their human functions over time. Zombies, however, do not have the intelligence and technology, let alone the chance, to acquire any form of physical repair and maintenance should they run into mishaps.
