Obi Wan Kenobi films, perhaps, a trilogy is reportedly in the works. Based on Cinelinx, a film website, which treats all information as gossip at this time, Lucas film and Disney are very keen in making three films on Obi-Wan, plot will be between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. At the same time the three movies would have some connections, they would independently exist of one another. It would be a James Bond Approach to the Star Wars universe. Cinelinx's sources also say that Lucasfilm already has the basic plot for each mapped out film. One movie would entirely take place on the planet Tatooine, at the same time, the other two would have trekking across Obi Wan's galaxy. The Jedi Master would possibly face many familiar faces from the Clone Wars, with special appearances by Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul.
The Cinelinx's source said, "First up, they are not talking about an Obi-Wan spin-off movie but a trilogy of Obi-Wan movies. I need to stress that these movies are not connected. They aren't part of a story arc but 3 separate Obi-Wan adventures set between Episodes III and IV."
In a new interview with Digital Spy to promote his upcoming film The Impossible, actor Ewan McGregor said he would return to the Star Wars universe if they had need of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Ewan McGregor expressed his wish of his return to the STAR Wars universe if the film would need Obi Wan Kenobi. During an interview with Digital Spy, while promoting his film The Impossible, "I'm pretty sure a standalone Kenobi film is going to happen, but it seems like they want to use other characters and timeframes for the other standalone titles, As I said, I trust the source, I think his perspective on the information is a little different. What it sounds like to me, is that Disney/Lucasfilm is actively cooking up ideas for a Kenobi movie."
McGregor said jokingly, Kenobi will be resurrected, although he doesn't know any specific details regarding his appearance in the upcoming Star Wars film yet, as for the Obi Wan trilogy, it will still remain as rumors until official confirmation from Lucas Films and Disney.
