Samsung goes out of its way to video a drop test for the Samsung Note 4. What is a drop test? According to the video, the test requires a floor made of solid granite with a rough surface, and solid metal floors that have smooth surfaces. These are the kind of surfaces that users are most likely to drop their Samsung Note 4, and everyone hates breaking their phone or having a function stop working on a gorgeous phone like the Samsung Note 4. This is without accounting for the money involved in repairs or what you may have paid for the phone.
Rigorous drop tests are common and manufacturers routinely go through the procedure to ensure that the devices will stay intact. The Samsung Note 4 was dropped from various heights to a granite floor, which did little to put a dent on the Note. The hard metal floors were used extensively from various angles and heights - a few hundred times.
Mashable reported," Perhaps the most grueling is the "tumble test", in which the Note 4 is placed into a tumbling box, simulating a fall down the stairs. In the video, we see the smartphone being compared to a soda can, which looks pretty beat up after 14 "falls", whereas the Note 4 looks as good as new."
During the recent release of Apple's iPhone 6, the tech giant under scrutiny for its security service for the Cloud after the nude Celeb photo leaks in Hollywood, shared its stress testing for the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models. Although random third party drop tests went well, the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus performed satisfactorily. However, they were not near 100% quality standards.
Tech reports confirm that drop tests do not guarantee that every phone will be indestructible, but offers a hunch if the phone will stay in line with standards through most of its life.
