The Philadelphia 76ers has been on the trying years for a very long time. Their last season ended with 19-63 squads which is far worse than they did a couple of years back. The team has been built with second draft picks, undrafted rookies and not to known d-leagues. But even at these odds, there is still someone from the team who can see a light amidst the long darkness of a tunnel. And that is no other than, Brett Brown, currently the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA. According to Brown “I feel that trying to coach with a very long lens is important. I see daylight here in this program. Michael's three-point shot, Nerlens' progression at the foul line, Tony Wroten's assist-to-turnover ratio, all those types of things are development things that are our measurements this year. That's our report card and it's done with a very long lens.” Brown is an optimistic person with full of humor and zest. He is the sole person who has patience and sees a vision of a brighter future for the Sixer’s. He said “It is a tremendous challenge but that's what I signed up for. To try and keep a locker room together, trying to be candid with the city and the media.” Now that the new season is about to start, he has a team which includes Carter-Williams, Noel, Wroten, a couple of veteran players and others players who are not in the mainstream. To this, Brown says “You're reminded that the roster is fluid. Anything that makes them think isn't fair to anybody. We're trying to come up with stuff that is reactionary and proactive and not trying to paralyze them with too much information. You walk a fine between growing too fast and giving people an opportunity that is real.” Brown’s main concern is how he will be able to top on the talent that his players, such as Noel, have and allow them to grow within the team. He said “I want to encourage him to be fearless on the weak side. I don't care how many illegal defenses he gets called for. I don't care. We want to give him the freedom to just let his athletic gifts shine and then polish him up as he gets older and understands NBA basketball a little better.”
