Shia LaBeouf Is A Deep Man: Actor Blames ‘Existential Crisis’ For Recent Legal Troubles

Shia LaBeouf has been making headlines for his recent behavior, including spitting on a cop and smoking and yelling during the Broadway performance of "Cabaret."

It turns out that the "Transformers" star is deeper than we all thought he was, as he revealed the reasons for his legal troubles during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres.

"I went through like an existential crisis, which turned into kind of like, a, explorations. I had some hiccups, some judgement errors," explained Shia LaBeouf.

Last month, Shia LaBeouf reportedly pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and if he stays in alcohol treatment for at least three months and out of trouble for six months, the plea can be withdrawn and the case will be dismissed, according to Fox News.

After Labeouf was arrested for his "Cabaret" outburst, the 28-year-old was reportedly taken to jail and had to spend 24 hours there. Although this wasn't the first time the actor went to jail, he reportedly admitted that this was the "worst time."

After spitting on a cop, he was put in a "Hannibal mask and a lead jacket."

"It was really rough," admitted the "Fury" actor.

LaBeouf further proved his deepness as he explained his recent performance piece where the actor wore a paper bag over his head and had people say and do "whatever they wanted" to him.

"There was a lot of negativity online. So, I thought, 'All right, well, let's see what all this negativity is all about. Let's invite it in. Let's put pliers and a whip in front of people," explained the recently arrested actor.

He continued, "Basically I was sitting there with a bag over my head in this room. And we had these one-on-one situations where we'd invite one person at a time and they can do whatever they wanted. And there was also this bowl of these really malicious tweets. So, people would come in and read them. I was sitting in there broken. I was really truly apologetic, so I was sort of like apologizing to the public in a way. So, I thought for sure people were gonna come in and be super mean from what I'd been reading. But it wasn't that way at all. It was very human. Once they got in there everything changed. They stopped looking at me as like an object they started looking at me as like a human and they were very loving. It was really human."

Shia LaBeouf also showed some compassion for all the haters out there.

"Well, I think it's...We both suffer from the same thing. I got into this industry because I had this void. I'm a kid of abandonment, so I thought being good at being an actor would somehow fill that void...and so I think people just really want to make a mark," explained the "Lawless" actor, according to E! News.

He concluded, "So, people who are online making the comments really just want to make a mark. They want to have an effect. So, I think we suffer from the same thing, which is just a lack of attention and love."
