Ello Social Network, A New Platform To Replace Facebook And Twitter? New Social Media Promises Ad-Free Virtual Environment;

Ello Social Network has been a buzz on Facebook. Surprisingly, the news spreading about this new social media platform is that it will replace Facebook and even Twitter.

If you will check the official page of Ello social network, the website is spartan-inspired, which means you will only get what you need.

You can check their official Ello page here. The selling point of this social media why it has become popular these days is the statement "You are not a product".

Ben Griffin of Digital Spy UK shared his thoughts about the SN which promises free-ads. The author stated the 'Manifesto' page of Ello, which reads:

"Your social network is owned by advertisers. Every post you share, every friend you make and every link you follow is tracked, recorded and converted into data... You are the product that's bought and sold."

So it means, this website will not share your data with companies. They will make money by charging users for premium features. Aside from this feature, this social network allows user to block and mute users, check the number of views a post has had, allow to post emoji or gif file, and get email notifications of various kinds.

Since the main selling point of this new social network is an ad-free virtual environment, is there a chance it can knock out Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms?

According to Robert Gehl of The Week:

"if Ello can make it easy to leave Facebook and show us there is a world outside of Twitter, more and more people might start branching out and migrating to new sites - sites that are anti-surveillance, decentralized, open, and far more under user control. This can lead to more experiments with alternative social media. We can finally leave the mainstream social media sites behind for good."

It's too early to predict what will happen on the new Ello social network. To keep you updated about the development of this new platform, keep your tabs on Kdramastars.
