More and more Marvel comic-to-film adaptations are coming our way. This time we may expect for the new superhero to draw our attention: Doctor Strange. Perhaps, what makes it interesting is that Keanu Reeves may play the role of the egotistical neurosurgeon.

While people are talking about the "Doctor Strange" movie, Reeves seems oblivious that he is creating a buzz in connection to the planned superhero film. Fans, and even news reporters, think that Keanu Reeves may fit for the role, especially now that Joaquin Phoenix dropped out the role.

As we all know the character Doctor Strange, also known as Doctor Stephen Strange, is a brilliant, but self-centered neurosurgeon who only thinks about wealth. However, a car accident that led him to suffer with severe damaged hands, Strange has found himself searching for cure for his hands to get back his skills in surgery. On verge of searching, he meets a hermit, Ancient One, who is the Sorcerer Supreme. Ancient One is the one who teaches him mystic arts.

If we were to think of Reeves' film "Constantine", we can see that he is capable of playing the role of a person who is into sorcery.

In an interview with Steve Weintraub of Collider, Reeves talks about Doctor Strange. He said: "From a practical standpoint, the idea of a long-time contract is sort of 'errr' because you want to make sure the material is up to the certain level, like the good or great level."

He added when Steve told him that he is the favorite choice for the "Doctor Strange" film, "I like the idea. I go to those kinds of movies. I grew up on them and comics and graphic novels. [But] I didn't know 'Doctor Strange' as a character; I didn't read that [when I was] a kid. I'm gonna have to read it."

He even asked Steve, "Would I be good for the role? Am I right for the role?"

It is undeniably that Reeves' fans would like to see him in a superhero outfit this time. If the film will be pushed through, then it would be the first time that "The Matrix" actor will put on the superhero costume to save mankind.
