According to Io9.com, the 1986 film "Labyrinth" sequel is currently in the works. Additionally, the film will be under the hands of Jim Henson Company.

As per Variety, Jim Henson Co. is developing "Labyrinth" sequel. As of the moment, other details including release date and plot are not yet revealed. The first installment of this 80's movie reads:

"Fifteen-year-old Sarah resents her baby brother Toby and secretly wishes that he will just disappear. Her wish comes true when goblins kidnap the boy. Feeling responsible and guilty about his abduction, she sets forth to retrieve him, and finds herself on the adventure of a lifetime. To rescue her brother, she must sneak into the castle of the Goblin King, which is in the center of a fantastical labyrinth. But, the task is easier said than done, for the maze is filled with strange creatures and mind-bending puzzles, and nothing is really as it seems." (based on IMBD summary plot).

When Jim Henson passed away in 1990, his children Brian Henson and Lisa Henson continue the management of his production company.

One of the popular movies of Henson Co. is "Which Witch", an animated movie and it is also reported to be in the works. The upcoming movie project's story is now being written by Billy Crystal. Variety reported that Jim's son Brian will direct and produce the film "Which Witch".

Additionally, the production will start in early 2015. Samantha Sprecher and Lisa Henson have already signed on to produce the film.

CEO Lisa Henson told Variety:

"Which Witch" is underway with the company finalizing negotiations with a digital animation studio and a foreign financier for the project. The project is based on Eva Ibbotson's 1979 book in which a wizard holds a contest among the seven witches of Todcaster to determine which witch he will marry."
