Bad news gaming fans as the release date Ubisoft's upcoming video game, Assassin's Creed: Unity has been delayed.
According to reports from The Fuse Joplin, the game developers of Assassin's Creed: Unity have found some system issues of the game in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. The development team announced that the delay would allow them to work better on the title and make the necessary changes.
Compared to a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, the new platforms have more PC like technical systems and it is mandatory for them to make sure the games run well on them. Besides all this, there’s also the issue of delivering 1080p resolution on these platforms which has been giving a hard time for developers. The recent Gamescom trailer looked a bit dumbed down and the graphics wasn't as cool looking as the game originally showed during E3 2014.
The website further add that Ubisoft made an official press statement saying that the two weeks or so delay period will allow the developers to enhance the fan service of the game, as expected by fans.
One just can’t be sure how genuine this statement is. But, it is also going to be a tough problem for Ubisoft because October is free in terms of competitors on board. When it goes to November, other major titles are on board such as Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, Alien Isolation, Lord of the Rings Shadow of Mordor, Far Cry 4 and others will hit the retail shelves.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft made a statement regarding the 900p and 30fps downgrade of Assassin's Creed: Unity.
According to reports from Polygon, AC: Unity porducer Vincent Pointbriand explain everything in the company's official blog site last week and claims that it was misinterpreted.
"We've spent four years building the best game we could imagine," Pontbriand said. "Why would we ever do anything to hold it back? I simply chose the wrong words when talking about the game's resolution, and for that I'm sorry."
VideoGamer.com further explained Pontbriand's statement by saying.
"Technically we're CPU-bound," he said at the time. "The GPUs are really powerful, obviously the graphics look pretty good, but it's the CPU [that] has to process the AI, the number of NPCs we have on screen, all these systems running in parallel.
"We were quickly bottlenecked by that and it was a bit frustrating," he continued, "because we thought that this was going to be a tenfold improvement over everything AI-wise, and we realised it was going to be pretty hard. It's not the number of polygons that affect the framerate. We could be running at 100fps if it was just graphics, but because of AI, we're still limited to 30 frames per second."
Ubisoft senior communications manager has also offered clarification on these statements in their blog site.
"Let's be clear up front: Ubisoft does not constrain its games," said Steinman. "We would not limit a game's resolution. And we would never do anything to intentionally diminish anything we've produced or developed."
Assassin's Creed: Unity will be released on November 11, 2014 in North America, and November 13 in Europe for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
