One of the most exciting game in the preseason for the NBA has just happened. It was the game against Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers which took place in Brazil.
Many was looking forward to the said match as former Miami Heat start player, LeBron James is now playing on the other side of the court. And people are anticipating what's going to happen next.
Finally, the game is over and all could give a sigh of relief as the anticipation is finally out of the way. According to Heat Coach Erik Spoelstra there was "certainly a level of strangeness." Adding "'If you have to do something like this, I think it really benefits both teams to get the awkwardness out of the way in the preseason. There was certainly a level of strangeness to it."
While James commented "For me it was a special moment to be back there competing against my old teammates. I didn't get that awkward feeling, but a lot of memories came back about the things that we accomplished."
According to James, the game didn't really affect his team mates and they were on the spot during their preparation.
Same goes for the Heat, Spoelstra said "I think both teams also used this week just to concentrate on themselves. We have quite a bit of work to do to get our defense and our continuity offensively together. This was just another step, so in terms of game plan I don't think either team spent a lot of time on that."
While former team mates, James and Bosh appeared indifferent during their first meet after the transfer. Both players hook their hands without making eye contact.
According to Bosh "'I like the fact that we could get everything out of the way, that we could just come out here for the preseason and kind of just let everybody see us. We can move on."
He adds that it was tough playing against a former team mate but it was the right time to move on saying "We are here to improve our team, to get better, and he is doing the same thing. I'm glad we could get that out of the way and move on."
Adding "'For the last four years, of course, it's been a little easier with LeBron handling the ball. He made everybody's lives easier."
