Last week, JK Rowling joked around with fans by posting a teaser for her next project. The 'Harry Potter' writer stirred the internet with an guessing game!
"Cry, foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won't tolerate this nonsense," she posted the anagram on Twitter last Monday.
One fan threw out, "Harry returns! Wont say any details now. A week off. No comment," creating such an excited reaction from Potter fans online.
Although many Potterheads hoped the anagram pertained to an eighth book for the highly successful fantasy series, Rowling was quick to steer fans into the right direction which is magizoologist Newt Scamander's story.
She posted, "#helpfulhint The solution is the first sentence of a synopsis of Newt's story. It isn't part of the script, but sets the scene."
She added, "#Hint2 There's only one sentence hidden in the anagram, it is written in natural English and it concerns Newt [Scamander.] #3hintsreally."
The third read, "Now take out 'Newt Scamander' and 'New York' and see what you can make of the rest! #hint3"
Finally, one Twitter user gave the right answer: "Newt Scamander only meant to stay in New York for a few hours..."
The anagram turned out to be the first line for the new Warner Bros' new Potter spinoff franchise, 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.' The film studio had already scheduled the first movie of the proposed three for a November 18, 2016 release. New attractions at the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter as well as video games are already being planned for the trilogy.
Prior to the guessing game fun, the bestselling author already told her followers what she was doing for the film.
"Very busy at the moment working on a novel, tweaking a screenplay and being involved in @lumos campaigns. Back when I've finished something!" Rowling tweeted.
Last year, she clarified that the film will not be a prequel or a sequel of Harry's adventures in Hogwarts.
"The laws and customs of the hidden magical society will be familiar to anyone who has read the Harry Potter books or seen the films, but Newt's story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry's gets underway," she explained.
No casting announcements have been posted for 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.'
