Singer Kesha is reportedly suing her longtime producer Dr. Luke after claiming that he was the cause of sexual, psychical, verbal and emotional abuse over the course of a decade, according to MTV.
According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Kesha alleges that Dr. Luke began abusing her when she signed with his record label at the young age of 18.
"This lawsuit is a wholehearted effort by Kesha to regain control of her music career and her personal freedom after suffering for 10 years as a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and an instance of sexual assault at the hands of Dr. Luke. The facts presented in our lawsuit paint a picture of a man who is controlling and willing to commit horrible acts of abuse in an attempt to intimidate an impressionable, talented, young female artist into submission for his personal gain. Kesha is focused on moving her life and her career beyond this terrible time," Kesha's lawyer, Mark Geragos, told TMZ.
The "Die Young" singer also reportedly alleges in her lawsuit that Dr. Luke "forced himself" on her after forcing her to snort an illicit drug before she got on a plane, according to E! News. In another incident, Luke allegedly forced her to take "sober pills" which led to Kesha waking up the next afternoon naked in his bed, according to the media outlet.
Kesha reportedly later learned that "sober pill" was actually a form of the drug GHB.
The 27-year-old is reportedly suing for damages, including an injunction to void her current contract with Dr. Luke and his company Kasz Money.
The lawsuit also reportedly goes on to state that Dr. Luke continuously verbally abused the singer, stating, "you are not that pretty and you are not talented, you are just lucky to have me."
He also reportedly attacked her weight, calling her a "fat f-king refrigerator."
Soon after Kesha filed her lawsuit, Dr. Luke reportedly filed his own, claiming that the she was fabrication stories just to get out of her contract.
Luke's lawyer, Christine Lepera, told TMZ that Kesha's allegations are "a campaign of publishing outrageous and untrue statements."
