Samsung announced that they are developing WiFi that is 5x faster than the maximum probable speed of what is accessible today. The 60 GHz Wi Fi technology is being built by the Korean company, Samsung, which would make data transmissions faster at4.6 Gigabits per second, which is equal to 575 MB per second. That would be five times better than the present maximum 866 megabits per second, or 108 MB per second, the firm announced in a press release. For instance, a 1 GB file will only take three seconds to five seconds to download, upload or transfer from device to other device.

The Korean firm said they are set to commercialize the innovation in the early part of 2015. It is said the faster the WiFi would be specifically functional when used to Internest of Things Devce and smart home. They said the merely theoretical 80 GHz WiFi are hindered by wall signals. But now Samsung and their developers are making it possible, by using new methods and building new antennas to optimize communications devices.

Kim Chang Yong, head of research and development center of Samsung said, "Samsung has successfully overcome the barriers to the commercialization of 60 GHz millimeter-wave band Wi-Fi technology, and looks forward to commercializing this breakthrough technology. By 2020, more than 212 billion devices will be a part of the Internet of Things, the International Data Corporation (IDC). And there will 45 million smart home systems by 2018 and worth $100 billion."

However, there are issues that the company may face in the future; Samsung's fridge cannot talk to the Sony TV dues to different brand propriety technology that is not in synch with other firm's. But, these appliances will have a small network that will make them work together to develop a smart home, but not until the producers work hand in hand by an industry standard.
