Michael Bradley could only close his eyes and shook his head when media asked him to comment about United States head coach Jurgen Klinsmann words.
It can be remembered that Klinsmann said that about Bradley that "He has to prove that he hasn't lost a bit."
Adding "We'll see now where he's at. Obviously it looks pretty much like [Toronto will] not making the playoffs even if they mathematically [have] a chance. We'll see now how he deals with that disappointment. It's down to him and his environment to see what level he's capable to play."
To this, Bradley responded "I have broad shoulders and thick skin. I'm not ever going to change who I am."
The U.S.'s finished a game against Honduras with a 1-1 draw.
Bradley added "There's nothing I can do about it. I made it clear with Clint's move back and Michael's move back that it's going to be very difficult to keep the same level that they experienced at the places where they were. It's just reality. It's just being honest."
Bradley currently plays as a midfielder for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer. He also plays for the United States national team.
He said "I'm proud of everything I do. to become better on the team I'm on."
On the other hand, Graham Zusi said about Klinsmann saying "The MLS is growing at a very fast rate. he competition is extremely high. It's continuing to grow at an exponential rate. You see players like Clint and Michael; it's preparing guys extremely well."
And San Jose Earthquakes striker Chris Wondolowski added "We're not quite there, but the MLS players can compete with anyone."
Klinsmann is not happy with American returns to MLS saying "There's nothing I can do about it. I made it clear with Clint's move back and Michael's move back that it's going to be very difficult to keep the same level that they experienced at the places where they were. It's just reality. It's just being honest."
Adding "I think he's been faced with a very, very difficult year, going from a Champions League club to a team, Toronto that seems like they're not even going to qualify for the playoffs. It's a huge disappointment."
