Wonder Woman (Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice) Is Hercules’ Half-Sister? Amazon Superheroine Takes On A New Origin And Becomes A Demigod For The Upcoming Movie

The idea of Wonder Woman ("Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice") being Hercules's long lost half-sister may strike fans as ridiculous, but given the new origin the iconic superheroine will take on for the much-awaited movie, the relation seems justified and far from absurd.

However, truth be known that this does not hint anything about Hercules making his appearance with Wonder Woman ("Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice") in the said film.

Newsarama revealed that this latest information came from Charles Roven, the film's producer. He confirmed changes in Batman's character profile, along with acquiring the New 52 origin story for Wonder Woman ("Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice").

Based on the origin, the Amazon warrior is the unacknowledged daughter of the Greek god Zeus and Hippolyta. Having a god - and the mightiest of the Greek gods, at that - for a father turns Wonder Woman into a demigod. Since Hercules, as told by The Mystica, was also a demigod borne of Zeus and Alcmene, observers can logically assume that he and Wonder Woman are siblings, albeit having different mothers.

Roven did not expound on how Wonder Woman's new origin story would figure in "Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice." However, as Newsarama noted, it does open doors for possible plotlines that may be included if Wonder Woman were to have her solo movie.

IO9 explained that the superhero's New 52 origin is more fitting to her character compared to her previous origin. According to Wikia, Wonder Woman (whose alter ego is Diana Prince) was Hippolyta's eldest daughter whom she created from clay.

As noted by IO9, although some fans may not be amenable with the producer's changing the superhero's background story, the demigod origin better explains her superpowers. They added that the audience may be more priepared now to considering it after Marvel's introduction of Thor, who has a similar history.
