Anderson Silva news reveals "The Spider's" condemnation of Performance Enhancing Drug (PED) users in the UFC. The former middleweight champion is also rooting for fellow Brazilian Vitor Belfort in his title bout against champion Chris Weidman.

As "The Spider" prepares himself for his comeback fight against former welterweight title contender Chris Weidman at UFC 183 in January 31st, the former long-time champion appeared before a group of media men for his first press conference since his injury at UFC 168 in December 2013.

Anderson Silva news reveals "The Spider's" condemnation for Performance Enhancing Drug use in the UFC and MMA as a whole, noting how it has been hurting the sport.

"This is not bad for me, this is bad for the sport," Silva pointed out. "People around the world love the UFC, but the kids love the UFC, and the families love UFC. It's bad for the sport. I don't think this is good because the sport can change the lives of the kids and the people in the world."

Coincidentally for Silva, he has faced three opponents who have been found guilty for PED use: Chael Sonnen, whom he fought twice, Vitor Belfort, and most recently, Stephan Bonnar.

While he did emerge victorious in those said fights, the former pound-for-pound MMA king still believes that PED users should no longer be allowed to compete.

"When the guys test for the steroids, (they should have) no more fights," he continued. "When you use the steroids, you use them for a long time. When you use the steroids for a long time, you have a problem. It's a drug and it's not good for the sport."

Anderson Silva news also reveals the former middleweight champion's opinion on the upcoming title fight in his division between current champ Chris Weidman, and challenger Vitor Belfort. For "The Spider", his fellow Brazilian has the edge in the bout.

"Weidman is a new athlete. He's a new generation," Silva explained. "He's not my generation, he's not Vitor's generation -- he's a young athlete, and he's coming out very strong. It's a fight everyone is going to want to see. With all my energy I'm going to be rooting for Vitor to win."
