"Django Unchained" actress Misty Upham was reportedly found dead at the bottom of a steep cliff in a wooded area of Auburn, Washington on Thursday, a spokeswoman for the family confirmed, according to the Washington Post.

According to Tracy Rector, a friend of Upham's who is serving as a family spokeswoman, Misty Upham's family is reportedly furious that the Auburn police didn't help with the search of the 32-year-old actress.

"The family pleaded for the police department to look for her; they pleaded for dogs," stated Rector in an interview with The Post on Friday.

Rector reportedly added that "long-standing" tension between police and Native Americans on the Muckleshoot Reservation might have played a role.

"Unfortunately, it feels like 1950's racism in many ways. The family is concerned that Misty was considered just another Native American and treated as such. Even that is unacceptable. Native lives matter. It doesn't matter what the skin color was," stated Rector.

Before she was found dead, a search party was made consisting of her friends and family. The search party eventually found the dead body of the "August: Osage County" actress.

Auburn Police Commander Steve Stocker reportedly strongly denied the accusations that the department didn't do enough.

Misty Upham, who is understood to have suffered from bipolar disorder, had reportedly been missing since October 6, according to The Huffington Post U.K. Soon after her disappearance, her father, Charles Upham, reportedly expressed concern that his daughter had stopped taking her medication and may have been suicidal.

"August: Osage County" co-star Meryl Streep spoke on Upham's death, telling The Hollywood Reporter, "So, so sad to hear this news-all our thoughts are with her family and with her beautiful spirit."
