Tom Hiddleston of "Crimson Peak" movie was so creeped out by the story of Guillermo Del Torro's latest film; he got teary eyed while reading the script.

This is what Jessica Chastain, co-star of Tom Hiddleston in "Crimson Peak" movie, shared during her video interview with Josh Horowitz for MTV News, which was shown on YouTube.

She told Horowitz:

"When he (Tom Hiddleston) was reading the script for 'Crimson Peak,' he emailed me and said, 'I am crying'."

Before sharing this, Chastain revealed that Tom Hiddleston of "Crimson Peak" tends to get teary eyed every time he is frightened. Although the actress did not mention anything about reacting to the script in the same way, she did confirm that the film is scary.

iO9 corroborated her claim after viewing the flick's first footage. They described Guillermo Del Torro's latest big screen creation as his most beautiful and creepiest so far. According to them, he made this possible with the help of highly imaginative sceneries and a powerful atmosphere, which are some of the distinct trademarks that have distinguished Del Toro's cinematic creations.

Screenrant reported that the movie follows the story of a budding author whose affections are divided between her long-time friend and a cryptic stranger. Unable to cope with her romantic dilemma following the recent tragedy that struck her family, she flees in an attempt to forget everything. However, by some twist of fate, she finds herself drawn to the eerie old house whose dark secrets comprising its long history have brought it to life.

The site reported that aside from directing the film, Del Toro also took part in writing the story. The horror movie set during the Victorian period is allegedly his first Hollywood project that mirrors the style he employed in his acclaimed Spanish language films: "Pan's Labyrinth" and "The Devil's Backbone."

Just like how Chastain described the haunted house genre film in her interview, "Crimson Peak" artistically blends the scares with romance and kinkiness, set against a Gothic background with deep emotions woven into its prevailing dark mood.
