The "Paranormal Activity 5" movie indulges the fans' curiosity piqued in "Paranomal Activity 4" by connecting it with the plot of the said sequel. Also, there are speculations that a new group of characters would be populating the upcoming fifth installment.
Coming Soon.Net confirmed that "Paranormal Activity 5" movie would continue the plot started in "Paranormal Activity 4." Shooting started in February of this year (2014) in Los Angeles. The producers have originally scheduled the film's release this coming October 25. However, they changed their minds and bumped it to March 13, 2015, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Christopher Langdon, the writer and director of "Paranormal Activity 4: The Marked Ones," referred to "Paranormal Activity 5" movie director Gregory Plotkin as the go-to man when it comes to obtaining info about the upcoming sequel.
His exact quote featured on Coming Soon.Net, said:
"Gregory Plotkin, who is directing, he's been the editor on all of these and if there's anyone who knows these movies, it's him because he has to sit with all of the footage all day long. I think he's going to take it in a cool direction. We obviously have discussions about it because we want the movies to be connected. So, we were talking at the end of [The Marked Ones] because it's going to be tied to what they're doing in the fifth film."
The fifth installment is subtitled "The Ghost Dimension." According to Screenrant, the franchise has the pattern of changing its set of characters per sequel. Thus, they expect that the 5th sequel would feature a new family who would encounter a bizarre problem that would require them to install cameras at certain areas in their home - and they were right.
The family is composed of four members: the couple Ryan and Emily; their 6-year-old daughter Leila and Mike, Ryan's younger brother. Their eerie encounter begins shortly after moving to their new home in Pala Alto. The horrific incidents unfold as the connection between their would-be experience and those that occurred in "The Marked Ones" becomes definite.
