The 5th Wave movie with Chloe Grace Moretz could be the next big Hollywood heroine blockbuster. Jennifer Lawrence from "The Hunger Games" and Shailene Woodley from "Divergent" used to own the stage, but it looks like the world now has "The Equalizer" star to watch out for as well.

The 17-year-old actress was seen on Saturday on the first day of filming for the upcoming book-to-movie adaptation in Atlanta, Georgia. She was dressed in a forest green and navy blue school uniform skirt, a navy top, a brown zip-up hoodie, a blue floral-printed scarf, a pair of brown boots, and long brown socks. The Atlanta-native looked like the average American teen.

IMDB has confirmed that Chloe Grace Moretz, otherwise tagged as CGM, will be playing the role of a 16-year-old girl named Cassieopeia Sullivan, who attempts to "survive in a world devastated by the waves of an alien invasion that has already decimated the population and knocked mankind back to the Stone Age."

"The 5th Wave" movie is actually based on the bestselling novel written by Rick Yancey. Chloe Grace Moretz will be joined in the upcoming science fiction flick by Nick Robinson, Alex Roe, and Live Shreiber.

Yancey could not hide his excitement over seeing Moretz fill in on her spot as Cassie Sullivan. He posts on Twitter the next day, "Wonderful to see Zach Arthur and @ChloeGMoretz step into their roles for the first time. You guys are going to slay it!"

Chloe Grace Moretz also posted a picture of her chair on set on "The 5th Wave" movie on her official Instagram account. She wrote, "Today was an amazing first day of filming on @FifthWaveMovie !! Went so well. J #CassieSullivan is real!"

CGM is truly passionate with the roles that she gets in today's various films. With regards to her recent role in "The Equalizer," she says that she was drawn to the script because of its take on the troubled character of the young girl.

She told MTV during an interview, "That's what attracted me to the script. She's a girl who was sexualized by life, but the movie completely unsexualized her."
