The War Machine-Christy Mack case has resulted into an apparent suicide attempt by the former mixed martial arts fighter. The suicide note, which was found by officials, has now been made public.
The War Machine-Christy Mack case garnered mainstream attention in August, after Mack was found brutally beaten up in her home. In turn, War Machine, whose birth name is Jonathan Koppenhaver, was charged with attempted murder, including multiple counts of battery, strangulation, kidnapping, coercion, burglary, and sexual assault. In a report by TMZ, the former fighter pleaded Not Guilty to all charges.
However, in mid-August, War Machine was still arrested for the said incident, and is in custody of the Los Angeles law enforcement officials where he is held without bail.
After two months of the War Machine-Christy Mack debacle, the former fighter has remained in jail, however, was found to have attempted suicide inside his jail cell.
In a separate report, the entire ordeal, which was discovered by police officers, was explained in detail.
"The officer went into the cell and found the ex-MMA fighter had a piece of linen around his neck which was tied to the leg of the bed -- and his face was purple. The officer cut the linen, removed it ... and we're told War Machine's breathing became less strained and he attempted to speak," the report reads.
Another report by Bloody Elbow, War Machine had evidently left a suicide note, wherein he painted himself as the victim of the situation.
"If you are reading this, then it must be a rap (sic). "I had a good run. I experienced more in my short life than 5 avg. men combined. Something seemed different about you. Finding what I found that night was devastating to me, more than you will ever know. Not just the unfaithfulness, but the way u cared for him and protected him," an excerpt of the note reads.
The former fighter also lambasted his ex-girlfriend for the charges that were filed against him.
"Don't railroad me with fantasy charges like rape! Attempted murder! Kidnapping! and Burglary! It's f*cking ridiculous!"
