Royce Gracie and Eddie Bravo had a history together and it is a chummy one. Both fighters faced each other as they fought to a draw in a 20-minute, submission-only match at Metamoris 3 in Los Angeles, Calif.
But unfortunately, the result was not enough for Gracie as he went backstage looking for Bravo after the 20-minute match.
According to Gracie "I wanted to talk to him for years, but never had the chance to meet him. I met him after the fight and he was there, throwing up. Royler dominated him so much, he did so much strength, that he threw up after the fight."
Adding "I told him that I liked what he said after the fight, but didn't like the fact that he always talked trash about Royler and my family. He stood up and started yelling, so I also raised the tone of my voice and told him I didn't like it."
He continued "He said he always gave my family credit, but I know it's not true. He always talks trash about my family. Enough with this s---. He said he never talked bad about my family and he always gave us credit. He kept raising the tone of his voice, and I told him to shut up, so Jean Jacques (Machado) came in, said we didn't need this and asked (Bravo) to leave."
And now, seven months after that issue, they are back again to face each other.
According to Gracie 'I haven't got any offers, but I don't compete in grappling rules. I'm a MMA fighter, man. I'm a MMA fighter, all the way. I'm pretty much done fighting. With Eddie Bravo, it's personal. ... (Does Metamoris) allow punches to the face? Do this rubber guard stuff and I'll punch you in the nose."
Gracie does not agree with Bravo style which goes against his family code. He says "You're gonna send your kids to learn from a guy that tells everybody that it's okay to do drugs? It's ok to drink alcohol? Sorry, man. If you wanna do it in private, do it in private. I have no problem with that. But I can never send my kid to someone that praises alcohol and drugs. Is that what you want your kids to learn? It's okay to smoke pot? 'Oh, pot is not a drug.' So walk into a police station with a pound of pot and tell the cops it's not a drug. Come on."
