"The X-Factor UK" shocked viewers when it decided to put together a new eight-member boy group. Fans believed that it was a decision that Cowell, Louis Walsh, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, and Mel B came up with together. According to Walsh, however, it was all Cowell's idea.
During the elimination round last Sunday, the group faced off with Chloe-Jasmine after being sent to the bottom two. In the end, Stereo Kicks won over the 26-year-old songstress. This started rumors that Walsh was thinking of cutting the group in half.
"I didn't connect with the band," he told Sarah-Jane Crawford during an interview for The Xtra Factor "Simon's the one who put eight in the band. I didn't."
Cheryl FV also voiced out her opinion about the boys becoming too "overwhelming" and not really bringing on the hysteria that they initially thought the Stereo Kicks would bring.
Considering Walsh's history of unconventional decisions on 'The X-Factor UK,' would the 62-year-old really consider trimming the group into six or four?
He ominously told Crawford, "I'm going to have to talk to the boys."
The Mirror UK reported that Walsh could be axing two of the boys from the group, cutting the eight members down to six.
A source allegedly told The Sun newspaper, "Louis is looking at whether two should go. This is already being talked about with the group and the rest of the boys are open to it."
The publication goes on to predict that 16-year-old Reece Bibby and 14-year-old Charlie Jones could possibly be going home.
When asked about the truth of the issue on The Xtra Factor, Walsh jokingly answered, "I'm not telling you on live TV, someone might be watching."
Stereo Kicks is the only group left on Walsh's team after Blonde Elektra and Overload were booted off the show during The X-Factor UK's first elimination.
Do you think trimming the Stereo Kicks will help them win in the competition? Who do you think will Louis Walsh sacrifice to win "The X-Factor UK?"
