With only two days away before the Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes rematch, the UFC featherweight champion promised destruction of his challenger. "Scarface" also likened his opponent and the entire team to parrots during a pre-fight interview.

The Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes rematch will be happening on Saturday, October 25th as the headline bout for UFC 179 in Rio de Janeiro, in the champion's home country of Brazil. While both men have been trading words all throughout their respective fight camps, the champion shares his final statements as he heads into the bout.

"This support is wonderful. Fighting with this crowd backing me up... I get even more excited and confident," Aldo said in a report by MMA Fighting. "It will be sold out on Saturday night, everybody celebrating and fighting with me. I'm going through (Mendes) like a runaway truck."

The destruction "Scarface" promised for the Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes rematch is one of the things fight fans are also expecting. Aldo has always been known as a finisher, and he always does in devastating fashion.

However, it has not been the case as of late, with his last stoppage victory happening in August 2013, but it was also after his opponent Chan Sung Jung, a.k.a "The Korean Zombie" had injured himself mid-fight. Aldo's last convincing stoppage victory was against Mendes in January 2012.

This scenario has made him an open target to criticisms, both from his challenger and other contenders.

But for the champion, what is essential is to be able to prove his doubters wrong, not through words, but through his performance inside the Octagon.

"I'm only thinking about winning the fight," he said. "I'm well trained, physically well, and my head is good. It's time to go there and do my job."

"They are talking a lot, but I'm not much of a talker," he continued. "I will go there and do what I do. Even parrots talk. I don't care about what they say."
