UFC bantamweight contender Bethe Correia has made sure that she gets heard. This is by making sure that she fights the great fights and of course by trash talking her way to matches. This lead her to believe that Miesha Tate is targeting her to get her own shot at success.
Correia talked to local media in Brazil saying "I don't know why she put herself into this story. I think she saw all the attention I was receiving. Tate had two chances against Ronda and lost both twice. She saw that I'm closer to a title shot, so she wants to use that attention."
Correia believes that Tate made a mistake in calling her out in a stand-up striking battle as "Tate does have good grappling, but she challenged me to a stand-up war."
She explained "I hope she doesn't run away...I won't run away from the ground because I train a lot of jiu-jitsu and judo, and I believe in my skills, but I love to put my hand on someone's face, especially when someone challenges me. Tell her to find a better mouthpiece. I hope she comes here to brawl."
She said that she would be more than happy to accommodate Tate saying "I don't run from a challenge. The whole world knows who I am. Tate's looking for trouble, and she found it. I will fight her if that's what the UFC wants, and I will beat her in a way that the whole world knows that Rousey has to be next."
It can be remembered that Tate had said that Correia is her perfect match saying"She's doing really well and she's not afraid to engage in a fight. She's undefeated and she has an exciting style of fighting. My last two opponents that I beat just wanted to grab a hold of me and take me to the ground. They did not want to throw punches with me at all. It's not as fun for me. I like people that want to stand up and fight. I feel like Correia is well rounded and we could win fight of the night. It's hard to win fight of the night when one of the two people in the ring just want to hold on to you or lay on you. I want to fight someone that isn't afraid to stand up with me. Let's give the fans what they want to see and throw punches until someone goes down."
