The new Avengers movie trailer is out, with more of the villain Ultron revealed.
Fans get another sneak peak of part 2 with the new Avengers movie trailer, this time revealing more on the team's ultra-nemesis. The group reassembling also rekindles the friction between its superheroes.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is the follow-up to Marvel Studios' first release, in 2012. Although the sequel won't be out on theaters until May 1, 2015, fans already have a loose grasp of what the new movie has to offer. The new trailer shows Ultron with an army of robots, out to wipe out the Avengers and the entire human race.
New characters may also have their day in film and in the franchise: Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. Both were teased at the closing credits of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," and Quicksilver was a major character in the recently released "X-men: Days of Future Past." It's yet to be determined the roles both will play in the new Avengers movie.
The Avengers apparently split off and went their own paths after the last assemble, shown in the new Avengers movie trailer on their individual quests. Ultron catches them off-guard with a menace that also wants to wipe out humanity. Referring to humans as "puppets tangled in strings," Ultron reveals his own team of apparently self-aware robots.
Ultron was created by Hank Pym in the Marvel series of graphic novels; Pym, also known as Ant Man or Giant Man, is confirmed to have his own standalone movie in 2015, coinciding with the new Avengers movie's release.
Tony Stark's involvement in the creation of Ultron is apparent in the trailer, though it's yet to be revealed the role he'll play in the android's rise to power. Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr, teases on the unraveling of the plot: "It's the end. The end of the path that I started us on." (cnet.com)
