When Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie were married for three years, from 2000 to 2003, they wore vials of each other's blood and treated the red carpet like it was only their living room.
There used to be rumors about the celebrity couple's dark behaviors. Rumor has it that, at the time, there were instances when their behavior would be too outrageous. Now, though, they have hardly spoken up about it since they decided to split 11 years ago.
Now, the "Maleficent" star is happily married to "Fury" actor Brad Pitt, who has been her partner through thick and thin for almost 10 years now. Thornton, on the other hand, is in a long-term relationship with Connie Angland.
After those many years of keeping mum about his then relationship with the female A-lister, Thornton has finally broken his silence. He explained that they were actually not wearing vials of one another's blood. What they really did was cutting the pads of their fingers a little bit and smeared it on matching lockets.
"Angie came home one day with, you know, these lockets buy that are clear and you put a picture of your granny in it or something like that and wear it around your neck?" Thornton told The Hollywood Reporter. "That's what it was. She bought two of those."
He then added, "We were apart a lot because she's off making 'Tomb Raider' and I'm making 'Monster's Ball.' We were on opposite ends. We see each other for two weeks and whatever."
Taking a look at Thornton's statement, it looks like Jolie used to have a weird sense of romanticism. He shared, "She thought it would be interesting and romantic if we took a little razorblade and sliced our fingers, smeared a little blood on these lockets and you wear it around your neck, just like you wear your son's or daughter's baby hair in one. Same thing."
