Is Robert Downey Jr.'s role as Iron Man in the "Captain America 3" a confirmation of Civil War arc?
Although there are speculations that "The Avengers 3" might be the story of Marvel's "Civil War", with the lots of changes going on in the Marvel universe, the said arc might be adapted in "Captain America 3" instead to introduce characters that will appear in the next "Avengers" movies or perhaps just an introduction to the Civil War story.
As every Marvel comic fan knows, "Civil War" is like superheroes-vs-superheroes story, in which Iron Man and Captain America are separated by their principles because of the Superhero Registration Act. Iron Man is in the side of the government, approving the Registration Act; while Captain America opposes the Act because he doesn't want every superhero to be registered and revealed themselves and to work under the government.
In case that "Captain America 3" will be the "Civil War" arc, then Iron Man/Tony Stark will be the main antagonist of Captain America/Steve Rogers.
Will Spider-Man appear on the third installment? So long as Sony Pictures will allow crossover, then Marvel might include the webslinger in the movie.
There is another thing to be considered apart from Spider-Man. It is Thor. In "Civil War", Thor is already dead, which is also one of the reasons why Captain America has grudged over Iron Man.
It is also said that Ant-Man, who sides with Iron Man, will be introduced in the third installment of "Captain America". Ant Man, or also known as Hank Pym, will help Iron Man create a clone of Thor.
The arrest of Captain America and other anti-registration team members might be the ending of the film or perhaps the death of Captain America.
