Forums on Christian websites indicate that the faithful are a bit more optimistic that "Exodus: Gods and Kings" of Fox will be more reverent than "Noah" of Paramount. However, Christian Bale, who plays the role of Moses in the movie, has thrown some water on that idea.
"I think the man was likely schizophrenic and was one of the most barbaric individuals that I ever read about in my life," said Bale. He talked about his views on Moses to a group of international reporters just last month at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles.
Peter Chattaway, known film critic, was a bit troubled because Bale "speculates about what was going on inside Moses's head." He is also bothered by director Ridley Scott's comments to Entertainment Weekly, saying that it is not Moses or God will part the Red Sea, but that it will be caused by an earthquake.
Faith Driven Consumer, an organization that had some negative reactions prior to the opening of "Noah," was also disturbed by Christian Bale's remarks. The organization's founder, Chris Stone, has yet to pass Bale's comments to the group's followers, which he claims the numbers are in millions.
This aforementioned group is also quite famous for organizing the campaign to keep the show "Duck Dynasty" on air after its star, Phil Robertson, made some disparaging comments about homosexuality. Now, the group has taken its attention to "Exodus," conducting a scientific poll that they shared with Scott Free Prods.
According to the results of the poll, 74% of today's Americans will be watching the film it was biblically accurate. However, 68% will not see the movie if it was inaccurate.
"It's our sincerest hope that this movie resonates with our community," Stone shared. "So, we sent them the results of our poll. Their response was, 'We don't need to have any further conversation.'"
Fox declined to give any comment on this matter.
