With 'Sherlock' season 4's release date drawing near, several speculations have been thrown around regarding the plot for the BBC show.

One of most popular topics of discussion is the appearance of the eldest Holmes brother, Sherrinford. Although he wasn't explicitly introduced in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories, fans still believe that he will appear in the Emmy Award-winning series soon.

One of the most popular actor to play Sherrinford Holmes is 'Thor' star Tom Hiddleston. The discussion most likely stemmed from an earlier interview with producers Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss.

Mark Gatiss (who plays Mycroft Holmes in the series) had joked about asking Hiddleston to take the role.

Tom Hiddleston is already good friends with Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the clever detective. The former had nominated the 'Star Trek' star to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge a couple of months ago. Cumberbatch had gamely taken on the charitable mission (about six times) for his mate.

The problem here, however, is the same as the production's dilemma with previous dilemmas. Moffat and Gatiss has been working hard in finalizing the filming schedule to follow 'Sherlock' season 4's release date set in 2016. Hiddleston, like Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman (who plays Dr. John Watson), also has a full calendar this year.

'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' has already set its release date in May of 2015. Hiddleston is also working on the Hank Williams biopic, training hard under the tutelage of country star Rodney Crowell.

The 'Sherlock' production is already juggling Cumberbatch and Freeman's schedule, not to mention the other acclaimed actors in the show. Would they be able to schedule the filming properly should Tom Hiddleston take the role?

'Sherlock' season 4's release date has been set for January 2016. Aside from the usual three episodes, BBC also plans to have a special Christmas episode in December 2015.

Do you think Tom Hiddleston is the right choice to play for Sherlock's brother? If not, who do you think is the best actor to play Sherridan Holmes?
