Joan Rivers news reported that a multi-million dollar lawsuit will be filed against Yorkville Endoscopy by the late "Fashion Police" host's only daughter, Melissa Rivers.

According to a report from New York Daily News, the 46-year-old only daughter of the late comedienne signed Gair, Gair, Conason, Steigman, Maloof, Bloom and Rubinowitz. The group will reportedly proceed with a lawsuit to be filed against the Upper East Side clinic allegedly responsible for the TV icon's untimely death.

The said Joan Rivers news was confirmed by managing partner Ben Rubinowitz: "In order to fully determine all the facts and circumstances surrounding the death of Joan Rivers, we confirm that our firm has been engaged by Melissa Rivers and her family."

New York Daily News reported that The Gair firm has previously been involved with other high-profile cases. One of their cases was a $3 million litigation settlement for Amadou Diallo, who died after being shot with 41 police bullets in his Bronx apartment in February 1999, said the report.

Melissa Rivers' filing of the multi-million dollar lawsuit followed Joan Rivers news reports revealing the former "Fashion Police" host's inheritance for her only daughter.

According to a report from Us Weekly, the late TV icon has passed on her estimated $100 million estate to Melissa Rivers,

Joan Rivers news revealed that part of the estate will be in form of cash, investments, and antiques from the late comedienne's New York apartment.

Us Weekly added that Melissa Rivers' son, Cooper Endicott, will also receive a "very large" multi-million dollar trust. The grandson's trust fund is separate from Melissa Rivers' estimated $100 million inheritance, said the report.

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, the comedy icon died from lack of oxygen.

The detailed statement from the New York City medical examiner rep Julie Bolcer read: "OCME [Office of the Chief Medical Examiner] has completed its investigation. The cause of Ms. Rivers' death is anoxic encephalopathy due to hypoxic arrest during laryngoscopy and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy with propofol sedation for evaluation of voice changes and gastroesophageal reflux disease. The manner of death is therapeutic complication."

"The classification of a death as a therapeutic complication means that the death resulted from a predictable complication of medical therapy," the statement added.
