Lindsay Lohan Fashion App Fails Before It Launches? Actress Sued For $60 Million

Lindsay Lohan and her brother Michael Jr. have reportedly been hit with a court order to stop working on their fashion app after a former business associate claimed they stole the idea from him and is suing for $60 million, according to Fox News.

Given this case, there is speculation that Lindsay Lohan's app might not be able to launch properly.

Supreme Court Justice Saliann Scarpulla reportedly stated that the siblings are not allowed to promote, publicize, market or seek investors for their website until she holds a full hearing on November 20 on the claim that Lindsay Lohan and her brother stole the idea from Fima Potik, according to the NY Daily News.

Potik reportedly asked for a restraining order, insisting that the Lohan siblings stole his app for Spotted Friend, a website that creates a virtual closet for shoppers and identifies what clothes and accessories celebrities are wearing to help shoppers buy those items online. The ex-business parter reportedly developed the fashion app and was relying on Lindsay Lohan and her brother to market the company to get it off its feet.

Lohan's lawyer, Ravi Batra, reportedly argued on Friday that Potik was never able to develop Spotted Friend to the point where he could launch it beyond creating a web page. Batra reportedly stated that Potik broke the contract by not producing a final product as promised.

"Every person who doesn't like a contract makes a fraudulent inducement claim. Your client signed that contract and now you want to get out of it," stated Scarpulla.

On the other hand, Potik's lawyer, Kenneth David, reportedly argued that his client was the victim of the Lohans who allegedly tried to steal the business idea.

"The Lohans' egregious theft of the design, layout and functionality of Spotted Friend's app [was] in blatant violation of their contractual and fiduciary duties. This significant victory helps ensure that the Lohans will not profit from their illegal conduct at Spotted Friend's expense," stated David.
