Anne Hathaway is part of Christopher Nolan's latest movie, "Interstellar," and she has revealed some secrets about the "Inception" director's mind-bending special sci-fi effects. According to the "Les Miserables" actress, Nolan's special effects actually involve a whole lot of leg work.
"Sometimes it was very high-tech," shared Hathaway when she appeared on "The Graham Norton Show." "I would stand on one leg and sort of float around."
Norton asked Hathaway to give a small demonstration about what she said and the actress good-naturedly agreed to show off the anti-gravity skills that she have learned for the flick. The skort that she wore for the interview helped her mini demonstration.
Anne Hathaway then proceeded to float around the show's set with just one leg, much to the amusement of Norton, "Interstellar" co-star Matthew McConaughey and "Girls" creator Lena Dunham, who were both on the show as well.
Dunham was on the show to promote her memoir, Not That Kind of Girl.
Now that the secret about the special anti-gravity effects of "Interstellar" is out, fans just could not wait to watch the movie and see for themselves how Hathaway uses the technique in "outer space."
Plus, being famous helped the actress get into her character in the upcoming sci-fi flick much easier. It somehow provided her with a relatively distinct and unlikely way into her role, the astronaut Amelia Brand.
"She's sort of afraid to get too close to people, sort of afraid to show who she really was," Anne Hathaway shared. "And I became - not famous - but known at a young age, and for many years, I struggled with a certain fear of those similar things. But, thankfully, I got over it."
The full episode with Hathaway and McConaughey on "The Graham Norton Show" will be premiering on the small screen on Saturday, November 8th.
