Floyd Mayweather news reveals boxing coach Freddie Roach's belief that his former fighter Amir Khan can hand "Money Mayweather" his first defeat. The famed trainer also claims that "King Khan" has "all the abilities in the world" to accomplish such a feat.
In June, Amir Khan's name was one of the few that appeared on the shortlist for Mayweather's would-be opponents. In fact, the current pound-for-pound king of boxing expressed his intent to face "King Khan" at the renowned Wembley Stadium in the UK, which happens to be Khan's home country.
"I love all my fans in the UK and I want to go there and give a good show at Wembley before I retire," Mayweather said in a report by ESPN. "I plan to come in the near future."
However, none of these plans ever materialized after Mayweather opted for a rematch against Marcos Maidana in September. Khan, on the other hand, will be facing fellow top contender Devon Alexander in December.
Floyd Mayweather news reveals that hall-of-fame trainer Freddie Roach, who had trained Khan in the past, believes that "King Khan" is the man who can deal Floyd Mayweather his very first career loss.
"I always thought Amir had the talent to maybe beat someone like Mayweather," Roach told Ring TV. "I think it's a very good fight for Amir. I give him a very good chance to win that fight."
While Floyd Mayweather news reports that "Money's" next fight has yet to be determined, the resurfacing of Amir Khan's name can make him one of the next possible candidates.
Freddie Roach, on the other hand, is banking on his former fighter's sheer abilities, which in the end, was highly praised.
"He's fast, he's athletic," Roach said of Khan. "He's a pretty good puncher, not a great puncher. He has all the abilities in the world."
