Sean Hayes has just confirmed that he is, indeed, engaged to partner for eight years, Scott Icenogle. Hayes was quite famous for his small screen debut as Jack McFarlane on highly watched sitcom, "Will & Grace," who had a bit of a hard time staying in a steady relationship.

However, it would appear that the same could not be said about Sean Hayes in real life.

Hayes's spokesperson was questioned repeatedly about the actor's status, particularly after he accidentally flashed a gold band on his ring finger when he appeared on "The Talk" on Monday. Initially, rumors said that the two were married in secret. However, his rep clarified that they were actually still engaged at this time and that the band was an engagement ring.

The rep said, "Sean and Scott have been together for eight years. They are not yet married, but they have been engaged for quite some time."

Hayes came out about his sexuality in public back in 2010 in an issue of The Advocate magazine.

He appeared on every segment of "The Talk" but he was never addressed regarding the new shiny band on his ring finger. He was also spotted wearing the very same ring when he appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" last Friday. Still, this special piece of jewelry was not brought up either.

Although the "Three Stooges" actor has been showing off his gold band, he is actually pretty known for not wanting to discuss his private life.

Back in 2010, Sean Hayes told The Advocate, "When I play a gay character, I want to be as believable as possible. And, when I'm playing a straight character, I also want to be as believable as possible. So, the less that people know about my personal life, the more believable I can be as a character."
