Based on Topsy, an online Twitter analytics website, the hashtag #Alexfromtarget has been tweeted over 821,000 times in the past 24 hours. A teenager named Alex working in Target has been a trending topic on Twitter since weekend. Many Twitter users also shared stolen picture of a Target employee.
After a quick online fame, Alex was surprised with tons of followers, his picture and name has been trending over the weekend, and someone has created a fake account under his name.
Target is a popular department store. It becomes trending due to its employee named Alex. According ot CNet's news, the marketing company named Breakr claimed the responsibility of making the hashtag "Alex from Target" trending and viral. Additionally, the CEO is stunned by the reaction.
Dil-Domine Jacobe Leonares, Breakr's CEO wrote on his LinkedIn about the explanation of how he and his fan girls were able to observe the 'Alex-lovers' and the 'Alex-don't-lovers'
Alex works at Target with one of Breakr's kid fan base. He gave his permission to use the image that went viral. The original tweeter of the famous image, @auscalum, actually lives in London. Yes, London, England.
