Why Did 'Jerry Maguire' Star Renee Zellweger Get Unrecognizable Blepharoplasty?
There have been numerous reports about the sudden shift in actress Renee' Zelweger's face. Apparently, she had plastic surgery done and her fans are not pleased with the results. The Oscar winner had a friendly face that everyone could identify with, even if she was a little chubby because she looked like a real person. That was part of the secret of her success in movies like 'Jerry McGuire' starring Tom Cruise. The new image of her looks like a smug socialite and a moderately successful actress that doesn't have some of the faux pas associated with moviegoers.
Renee' attributed the new look to "living a different, happy, more fulfilling life." But her fans could spot evidence of plastic surgery during her public appearances.
"I'm glad folks think I look different!" she said. "I'm living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I'm thrilled that perhaps it shows." As for why she addressed the issue, Ms. Zellweger said, "It seems the folks who come digging around for some nefarious truth which doesn't exist won't get off my porch until I answer the door," reported a New York Times article.
The article in the Times continued to say, "Dr. Michelle Copeland, a plastic surgeon in New York City, said that Ms. Zellweger had probably elected to have a blepharoplasty, or upper eyelid lift, and possibly also a forehead lift, with the addition of injectable fillers that may have widened the planes of her face. She has also likely benefited from laser or ultrasound procedures that tighten the skin."
So what could possibly make Renee' look so different? A source close to the story said Renee underwent radical facial surgery to get more roles in Hollywood. The Daily Mail reported a source as telling USWeekly, 'She doesn't know why she isn't getting the roles she used to.'
