"Star Wars Episode 7" rumors reveal that the new droid will help out Kira as the film's official title was announced by the studio.
The Movie Pilot weighed in on the latest "Star Wars Episode 7" rumors as it said that Kira might be getting her own droid, based on the leaked information.
"Smaller even than R2D2, this droid is believed to be used primarily for servicing vehicles, which would make sense given Kira's line of work," the site said. "It has a dome-shaped head, can store equipment inside, and is decorated in orange and grey."
The droid also allegedly has a "defense mechanism," said the "Star Wars Episode 7" news, as it has quills inside its body "which extend when it is in danger, like a pufferfish."
Based on earlier rumors, Kira is one of the main characters in the film and she will be a scrapper who lives in a distant planet described only as sandy. It could be Tattooine or not.
"She makes her living selling on parts of stripped down starships. And it is while carrying out this work that she finds the lightsaber which originally belonged to Luke's father Anakin, which Obi-Wan gave him near the start of 'Episode IV: A New Hope,'" Movie Pilot said.
Meanwhile, USA Today reported that the studio announced the official title of the latest saga.
"The movie will be called 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' Disney announced Thursday. In a post on the official Star Wars Facebook page, they unveiled the title and revealed that the movie has finished its principal photography," the publication said.
The cast of "Star Wars 7" include the original stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher as well as new additions, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, John Boyega, Max Von Sydow, Daisy Ridley, Anthony Daniels, Oscar Isaac, Kenny Baker and Peter Mayhew.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" will hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
