Latest news after Sherri Shepherd's appearance in "The Queen Latifah Show" recounts ex-husband Lamar Sally's denial that he is a gold digger. According to Huffington Post, the TV-writer producer was featured on an episode of "Inside Edition" and he speaks about Sherri's settlement offer and some new information about their 3-month old surrogate son.
"She offered me a settlement of $150,000, but it was not to have her name on the birth certificate. I can't do that to my son," he said before denying reports that he's a "gold digger." "There's no amount of money to ease my worry about my son. If she would just do the right thing and we co-parent... That's all I want."
Reportedly, Lamar revealed that he and the former "The View" co-host used a "facial recognition" program to choose their surrogate to be able to get one that bear a resemblance to Sherri.
What really caused Sherri to split with Lamar? In an interview on "The Queen Latifah Show," Sherri opened up about it when asked "when she knew it was time to let go of her marriage."
"When your physical wellbeing is [threatened] and I think when your emotional well-being is threatened," she said. "For me, I have a 9-year-old son who can't afford to see me laid out on the floor having a nervous breakdown, because I live and everything I do is for Jeffrey."
The Broadway performer is clearly moving on from her failed marriage. According to Essence, Sherri is adjusting to her new single life.
"As long as you can get up and stand up, it's another chance to get things right. And I'm doing really well," Shepherd told Queen Latifah. "Now if he (Lamar Sally) would stop talking about it in public I would be doing better. But I'm doing great. I'm moving. I'm grooving. Everything is good."
